ATPL Tips was Born in April 2020

What & How?
ATPL Tips’ purpose is to provide simple, straight forward explanations to topics within flight training that cause can confusion.  I do this through three ways:

  1. YouTube explanation videos.
  2. One-on-one private tuition
  3. Online articles and guides

I’m always on the lookout for new ways to help out the pilot community.  If you have an idea or would like to form a partnership, then I would love to hear from you.
Why?

Studying for the ATPL exams can be extremely difficult, especially if English is not a student’s first language, or if a student is trying to juggle ATPL exams around work and family commitments.  The subjects can appear complex, and I enjoy dissecting them into bite-size chunks that make the subjects more manageable.  I enjoy teaching, so developing ATPL Tips is a pleasure for me.

Secondly, I’m aware that the route through professional pilot training can appear confusing and convoluted – particularly to the family and friends of those doing the training.  I want to try to break the process down into something that non-pilots can understand.

I’m Tom, and I run ATPL Tips. Becoming a pilot was my childhood ambition, and I left a successful Construction Management career in 2019 to pursue flight training. I hold a valid CPL MEIR with both the UK CAA and EASA through the Swedish Transport Authority, and I’m passionate about helping people reach their ambitions.
